Ballarat Horse Betting Preview November 2nd, 2020

An eight race card is set down for judgement on Monday afternoon, to help punters find some bank builders before Melbourne Cup Day. The track at Ballarat has come up a Good 4 at the time of writing and with the rail out 4 metres from the 2000-600 metre mark and then out 8 eight metres the remainder, it may to look for some on-pace runners.

The first on Cup eve jumps at 1:30pm AEDT.

Ballarat Best Bets & Tips

Best BetRace 5 – Frondeur (#7) $2.80 with Sportsbet

The Mick Price trained mare was an eye catching runner when resuming at Hamilton three weeks ago, and was doing her best work late over 1100 metres. She steps up to 1400 metres for the first time in her career, and she looks like she will have no issue in running it out. Previously she has chased home a handy type in How Womantic, and was only beaten by two lengths in that race at Caulfield back in February. If she brings that form, along with her effort at Hamilton, then she should get punters over to a popular start in the quaddie.

Next BestRace 2 – Transpolar (#13) $5.00 with Sportsbet

James Cummings and John Allen will look to build on this mare’s first up run at Mornington where she was well held when running into the minor money. She had the run of the race on the leaders back, but just couldn’t keep up with the top two in the market who were both well supported. On the back of the first up third she gets the winkers on for the first time here, and from barrier eight maps to get up on pace with little fuss considering there doesn’t seem to be much early pace. Unlike some of her key market rivals who are first up, she will have a touch of race fitness on her side and will prove hard to catch.

Best ValueRace 8 -Balle D’or (#2) $7.50 with Sportsbet

Simon Morrish’s 6YO mare drops back out of two strong metropolitan races for this BM64 and returns to a track where she has had plenty of success, albeit on the Synthetic track. She’s a galloper who will take luck of the equation and dictate terms up in front and maps to get there quite easily from barrier four. She has won over 1100 metres on just occasion, but in a pretty thin BM64 she looks well placed.
