Shock Shock should roll forward from barrier seven and take some catching here. The horse is never too far away and despite the fourth placed finish at Pakenham last-start on February 1, it finished within a length of the winner.

Race 2 – Maiden (1400m)

Glifi Nifin Arkis has finished inside the first-four in three of its four career runs and looms as the best winning threat in this race. In a contest that lacks early speed the horse should get across from barrier six to lead and take a world of beating.

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1200m)

Shierro was well supported on debut and failed miserably, but the Lindsay Park runner obviously showed something for the price to be so short. The horse is running for the first time since that poor showing on September 5 of last year, and we’re anticipating a much improved galloper.

Race 4 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)

Doves Cry returns to the scene of its maiden victory back on November 28 and is the best placed galloper to make it two wins from three starts. Last-start at this grading the daughter of Street Cry went down by just over a length at the Valley, and from barrier two here it should be winning this race.

Race 5 – Benchmark 64 (1100m)

Racing for the first time out of maiden grade shouldn’t be a problem for Mint On Moseley, which will utilise its early speed to lead this contest. The horse did the business from the head of affairs at Moe to break the maiden, and a similar performance is expected in a wide-open affair.

Race 6 – Benchmark 64 (1600m)

Lara’s Web is hunting a hat-trick and we’re backing it to get the job done. The Weir mare won at BM58 level before taking out a fillies and mares race at this level at the beginning of February. A step-up against the males will be a challenge but the form is hard to fault.

Race 7 – Benchmark 64 (2300m)

Prince Alby hit the line like a freight train to just miss out at Ballarat at this level on January 24 and looks like a top chance three weeks removed from that run. From a great draw the galloper will be extremely well placed to add a second win at its sixth start.

Race 8 – Benchmark 58 (1200m)

Riverdance Lad will need a lot of luck from barrier 12 but it is racing in top form and has the speed to get across. The four-year-old Master Of Design gelding won by a neat two lengths at Great Western on January 28 and with a race that lacks early speed we think it can lead and win.
