Astern flies home to win Golden Rose
Astern charged to a commanding win in the Group One Golden Rose at Rosehill on Saturday.
The colt, a $3.30 favourite, clapped on the speed 300m from home to claim an emphatic victory by two lengths over Omei Sword with Impending third.
James McDonald stood up as Astern passed the winning post to give trainer John O’Shea back-to-back Golden Rose wins after Exosphere triumphed in the 1400m race last year.
