ARARAT is Victoria’s Thursday fixture in the first month of February.
An entertaining eight race card awaits punters in the country surrounds so let’s take a look at which runners we think can make an impact.

Race 1 – Maiden (1100m)
Thineisthekingdom greets the starter for the first time and after a solid trial we think it will make a winning debut here. The Tony McEvoy runner won by a neat length in its one and only trial at Geelong and we think it can win a none-to-strong maiden event.
Race 1 tip: Thineisthekingdom to win at Neds
Race 2 – Maiden (1600m)
Christie has made great headway over its two career starts to date and looks well placed to break through at the third attempt here. The grey was average on debut but was only narrowly defeat at Pakenham on January 25. Look for the filly to be finishing over the top of them late.
Race 2 tip: Christie to win at William Hill
Race 3 – Maiden (1310m)
Forsure has placed in three of four runs and looked like a win will be right around the corner. The horse has placed before second-up and the resuming run was fantastic and we think it improves even further from that.
Race 3 tip: Forsure to win at Ladbrokes
Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1310m)
Equilite has placed second in two of three runs this preparation and we believe that bodes well for a huge run on Thursday. Last time out Jordan Childs steered the horse to be within a length of the winner on January 21 and the hoop retains the ride on Thursday. Back Equilite in.
Race 4 tip: Equilite to win at William Hill
Race 5 – Benchmark 58 (1100m)
Champagne Elle is the only horse bringing decent form into this race. No other runner has finished inside the first half of the field, but the four-year-old is a last-start winner, which means a lot.
Race 5 tip: Champagne Elle to win at Neds
Race 6 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)
Along Came Jones is seeking a hat-trick and is well placed to get it. The horse gets a solid gate, and it registered a win at this level at Terang on January 31 and we think it goes on with the job once again.
Race 6 tip: Along Came Jones to win at William Hill
Race 7 – Benchmark 58 (1600m)
Missy Molace has made progression across its last three races and the horse comes into the race on the back of a powerful five length win at Terang. From the inside draw the gate pinger should lead and win this from the front.
Race 7 tip: Missy Molace to win at Crownbet
Race 8 – Benchmark 58 (1310m)
Goodjamak Baby has been great this preparation and has great claims to go back-to-back after a strong win at Terang. From gate two the horse will get a great run in transit and we think it will add another win to its tally.
Race 8 tip: Goodjamak Baby to win at Crownbet
