The classy gelding was switched off at the back of the field and was taken wide into the turn but balanced beautifully heading into the final stages to streak away and return $5.20 at Sportsbet.com.au.

Long-time leader Broadside battled on gamely to claim second and hand $1.50 to Crownbet.com.au clients while Soviet Courage delivered a brilliant run at odds to gift punters $6.80 at Bet365.com.au.
Jockey Josh Parr said he was certain Allergic would be good enough to win if it was able to keep in touch.
“I was a long way from them, and that was the only query today with the big weight,” Parr said.

The in-form hoop said he got a perfect run on the back of fellow Godolphin runner Big Blue which put Allergic in prime position to pounce on the leaders.
“I ended up on the back of the stablemate and he took me a hell of a long way and this horse’s class really come to the fore.”
