All Rise Queen Kah! First female to win the Doncaster |Punt Drunk

Punt Drunk Daily – 11/4/21

Good morning punters, hopefully you are waking up with a healthy betting account and the hangover is not too bad this morning! What a day of racing we saw for Day 1 of The Championships, and it is where we are going to focus most of today’s #PuntDrunk especially around arguably the two best jockeys in the country! The action continues today with plenty of racing to be held around the country today, and the team here at Horse Betting will have it all covered for you!

JMac, will he be the best jockey we have ever seen?

We may have our blinkers on here, but James McDonald might just finish his riding career as one of the best to ever do it, if not the best. When he rode Anamoe to victory in the Sires’ Produce yesterday, he became the quickest jockey to 50 Group 1 victories which is no mean feat considering the level of jockeys he is competing against week in and week out. Throw in his breathtaking ride on Nature Strip in the TJ Smith Stakes and the discussion ramped up as to just how good the kiwi will be once his time is up in the saddle. There is plenty of time (and plenty of Group 1 races) left before JMac is even considering calling it quits, and at 28 he still has arguably the best stages of his career to come! Two Group 1’s and a Group 3 in one day? That is not a bad day at the office.

All Rise For Queen Kah

The Royal family has been in the news over the last 48 hours, but the queen of Australian racing took centre stage at Day 1 of The Championships. The Doncaster Handicap is arguably the most prestigious race in New South Wales, but the Victorian-based Jamie Kah took out the time honoured event with a well time ride on The Cascadian. What can’t Kah do? Deadset, Kah is just the best at the moment, with JMac, the duo will rarely let you down. Remarkably, Kah became the first female jockey to ever win the Doncaster and became the first female jockey to EVER win a Group 1 for powerhouse stable Godolphin.

Punt Drunk’s best bet of the day

For the first time in #PuntDrunk history we are all over a hurdler! The veteran that is Britannicus is perfectly placed to bring up consecutive victories when he steps out at Hamilton over the 3200m. No doubt he is a sensational jumper and from barrier one he will certainly be close to the speed throughout. If he shows the turn of foot as he did at Oakbank, good luck holding him out!
