Victoria Oaks winner Personal will be the headline act for Lindsay Park at the Sydney Autumn Carnival as she looks to add a couple more Group 1’s to her resume.

The Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on March 27 is next on the agenda for the daughter of Fastnet Rock before she heads to the Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick two weeks later.

Tom Dabernig, who trains Personal in partnership with Ben Hayes, said Personal, who has filled a place in her two runs back at Flemington this campaign, will have an exhibition gallop on the opening day of the two-day Albury carnival.

Personal ran a first-up second in The Vanity (1400m) behind Zou Dancer then returned three weeks later with a third placing in the Kewney Stakes (1600m), beaten by Starelle.

“We’ll take her to Albury on Thursday during their two-day carnival for an exhibition gallop and then bring her back to the farm,” Dabernig said.

“Then we’ll do a hit and run for the Vinery and see how she runs and then head back for the Oaks.”

While Lindsay Park has stabling at Randwick, Dabernig said Personal would be trained for her Sydney missions from stable’s country property at Euroa in north-east Victoria.

Dabernig said Personal was not a filly that appreciated being in a stable environment and was not afraid to put her on a float for the travel to Sydney.

“She’s not prepared in a conventional stable. She spends nearly all-day out in the paddock and comes in at night,” Dabernig said.

“So, I think being at Randwick for two or three weeks might not be the best for her.

“She might be fine, but you’d be kicking yourself if it didn’t work, and we know this works.”
