| First Race | 12:35pm HKT (3:35pm AEDT) |
Hong Kong racing returns to Sha Tin on Sunday afternoon, with the Group 2 Sha Tin Trophy (1600m) headlining a bumper 10-race program. The rail is in the A+3 position for the meeting, and with perfect conditions forecast leading into the weekend, punters should be assured of a genuine Good 4 surface. All the action is set to get underway at 12:35pm local time.
Sha Tin Trophy Tip: Beauty Eternal
A quality field of 10 are set to line up in the Group 2 Sha Tin Trophy, with Beauty Eternal resuming after an impressive all-the-way victory in the Group 1 Champions Mile (1600m) on April 28. This 1600m contest lacks genuine speed on paper, and with similar front-running tactics likely to be adopted by Zac Purton, the son of Starspangledbanner should be able to dictate terms from barrier six. The likes of Galaxy Patch, Chancheng Glory and Voyage Bubble will be hot on his heels in the concluding stages, but provide he can pinch a break in the final 400m, Beauty Eternal could be off and gone with the prize.

Best Bet at Sha Tin: Ensued
The John Size-trained Ensued returns after a 29-week spell and looks to be flying heading into his second Hong Kong preparation. The four-year-old gelding chalked up a hat-trick of wins across his seven starts last season, two of which came at this course and distance in Class 3 company. The Size camp thought enough of him throw him into the final two legs of the four-year-old series, where he was far from disgraced. He looks much better suited here first-up, and with Zac Purton taking the reins from barrier five, Ensued looks well-placed to add another victory to the win column.

Next Best at Sha Tin: Family Jewel
After being a good thing licked two starts back, Family Jewel made amends in stylish fashion, claiming victory at Sha Tin on September 15. He was ridden cold towards the rear of the field on that occasion before exploding down the centre of the course to score by a half-length on the line. The handicapper tacks on 3kgs for the eye-catching victory, however, with this field of a similar quality and depth, Family Jewel looks hard to oppose as he goes in search of back-to-back wins.

Best Value at Sha Tin: Thriving Brothers
The Douglas Whyte-trained Thriving Brothers wasn’t beaten far first-up over 1400m and should appreciate the step back in grade and trip. The son of U S Navy Flag was given every chance by Alexis Badel in Class 3 company, but just wavered late due to fitness as he stalked his rivals from the one-one. He only has a short sprint in his locker, so the step back to 1200m should prove ideal. Zac Purton gets legged aboard, and provided he can slot in for cover in the middle stages, Thriving Brothers should give a bold sight at a good price with horse racing bookmakers.
