Quaddie tips for Thursday, January 5 races at Townsville

A NEW year, a new set of Thursday quaddie numbers for Horsebetting.com.au readers.
Over the Christmas and New Year’s break our followers have had their pockets lined by our racing experts, but we do not like to dwell on the past, so we have analysed the Townsville card from top to bottom to compile a set of quaddie numbers that we believe will boost the bank accounts of investors leading into the weekend.
Race four on the card at Townsville is the Racing Into the New Year @ TTC Class 3 which kicks off the quaddie at 3.55pm.
Race 4 – Racing Into The New Year @ TTC Class 3 (1609m)
First leg of the quaddie sees a field of eight taking the track and there are two clear cut choices to our eye.
Wuflies Lady has been in stellar form since winning its maiden back in mid-November. The five-year-old mare has not finished outside the first four since and has finished inside the places across its last two starts.
Zalsnaap was ordinary last time out in Townsville two weeks ago after finishing eight of nine runners, but before that the five-year-old had a consistent run that saw it finish inside the first four every time since October 8. The gelding will benefit from the almost two week break.
The duo we identified should run the quinella in the opening race of the quaddie.

Race 5 – Become A TTC Member Today BM60 (1400m)
A benchmark 60 confronts punters for the second leg of the Townsville quaddie and there are two runners we are backing in the nine-horse field.
Five-year-old mare No Biting is gunning for three in a row after recording an impressive two length win at the same venue as it will tackle on Thursday. Five straight races No Biting has placed dating all the way back to July 1 and looks well placed again after a three week layoff.
Three Henrys might be stepping straight out of maiden company to a benchmark 60 but the last two starts have impressed us immensely. The three-year-old gelding went down in a photo back on December 10 before easily accounting for its rivals on the 17th.
Three Henrys looks to be the most talented of the field going forward but No Biting’s form has to be respected. We would not be surprised to see either get the nod in the second leg.

Race 6 – Fabulous Function @ The TTC Handicap (1200m)
A strong field of nine take to the Townsville turf for the feature handicap of the day and there are several terrific runners capable of saluting.
Five O’clock let down Horsebetting.com.au readers late in 2016 after putting in a dud effort just before Christmas, but prior to that had won two straight races. The eight-year-old is one of the oldest runners in the field and boasts significant racing experience than its competitors.
Lover Of Life is in a rich vein of form.
After back-to-back failures it has hammered its rivals to record two straight wins. The 200m step up will not concern the mare who has won over the distance before.
Wishful finished second to Lover Of Life last time out, and prior to that finished first in similar company back on December 10. The mare has one once and placed five times across the same distance and should be in the finish on Thursday.

Race 7 – XXXX Gold BM65 (1200m)
Last leg of the quaddie sees a field of nine competing over the 1200m and a pair of consistent performers are our elects in the seventh on the card.
Smooth Element was on an incredible run of form prior to its last two outings. The mare had four straight races finishing either second or first before encountering bad luck two times in a row to finish fifth and six respectively. At its best the five-year-old has the ability to blitz this field.
The lightly raced Lady Sioux may have only eight races across its two-year career, but the mare has only finished outside the placings once (a fourth placed finish). The five-year-old resumes after a four month layoff and is two-from-two when first up.
Hard to see any other horses displaying our pair for the final leg which should generate a handy return for our loyal followers.
