Phelan Ready Stakes betting preview
The 1000m Listed Phelan Ready Stakes at Eagle Farm is for the two-year-old colts and geldings en route to the 2021 Magic Millions 2YO Classic. Baby Wong and Zarastro shared favouritism before the latter’s scratching, ahead of Albine Edge, Cochrane and Rambeau. The speed will be genuine, with Rambeau and Prime Asset likely to pursue the lead. There’s plenty of question marks surrounding the two-year-olds here, as many are making their racetrack debut.
Baby Wong is one of the better bets of the day for us, so he is naturally on top here. After finishing second to Conexy a fortnight ago and gapping third by eight lengths, he looks ready to win at start three. He’ll be handy from the gate under Aaron Bullock, who reunites with him here. The big straight at Eagle Farm will give him every chance. With Zarastro and I’ve Bean There both out of the race, Baby Wong is a real standout.
