Tesio Stakes Preview
The Group 3 Tesio Stakes for the mares brings up the halfway mark of the card on Cox Plate day. A field of 12 is set to do battle for the $200,000 prize pool. There looks to be plenty of pace engaged with the likes of Greysful Glamour and Sovereign Award known for setting a genuine tempo. With plenty of rain expected in Melbourne and the recent history at The Valley, then it may prove to be beneficial to be up on speed in a race like this.

Tesio Stakes Betting Tips
The trick to the Danny O’Brien mare is seemingly having Jamie Kah on board, she has been on board for the last two starts and she has been convincing in taking out both of those starts. She is naturally an on-paced galloper and with Kah being known as one of the best jockeys when paired with an on-paced runner they look hard to run down in the Tesio Stakes. With the Sydney galloper drawn the outside barrier she may be able to hold that runner off the rails and if she can, it will go a long way into winning this race.
As stated above, Greysful Glamour will love to lead this field up and she could easily do so if she jumps nicely from the wide barrier and Kerrin McEvoy can get her to the rails. If that is the case, she may prove hard to run down, as a majority of her career wins have been when leading all the way. With rain forecasted leading up to the race, it is usually no disadvantage to be up on speed at The Valley on rain affected ground, however she is still a maiden when greeted with a track that has a sting out of the ground.
The Mick Kent 5YO mare hasn’t been beaten far in both of her runs in her second campaign of her campaign. She won third up last campaign on rain affected ground at Sandown, but she will need to overturn 4 lengths on the market favourite. She maps to settle around midfield, and with a bit of luck she looks a genuine knockout hope after getting in with the lightweight of 55kgs.
