The three-year-old staying feature for the fillies features a quality field of 19 runners and instead of sorting through the field to find the best value, we’ve done the hard work for you.

Our four five tips include our best winning bet, best value and a handful of other runners which could enter the fray at long odds.

It promises to be an exciting race and it gets even more exciting with the Ladbrokes enhanced odds offer. Ladbrokes.com.au is boosting odds for every runner in the Queensland Oaks and it’s our preferred place to shop for the best value this Saturday.

2017 Queensland Oaks top pick

Our top pick goes to current favourite Egg Tart, which carries the best form into this race.

The Chris Waller-trained filly has rattled off five consecutive wins coming into this and it looks to have natural staying talent.

The daughter of Sebring was a brilliant winner of the Schweppes Oaks last start where it defeated race-rival Kenedna in the shadows of the post. It will take plenty of benefit from that run and the extra distance isn’t a worry as it settles well throughout the run.

The Sydney-based filly handles right-handed tracks and despite being dominant on rain-affected ground, it has produced some good showings on dry tracks.

We’re not worried about it drifting with bookmakers from $3 to $3.30. We’re expecting punters to back it on race day and with Ladbrokes giving us $4, we’ll happily oblige.

Queensland Oaks next best tip

It comes as no surprise to see Kenedna well-backed in the market and we think the two favourites could battle it out again.

The Darren Weir-trained filly is a six-time winner from 14 starts which has done its fair share of travelling in recent months. The three-year-old run at Flemington in March before having three runs in Morphettville and then coming to Doomben last start.

It was a quality winner in The Roses and despite looking under pressure around the home turn, it sprinted well in the straight and the extra distance looks ideal for this.

Ignoring the run of Weir and Irish jockey John Allen would be silly and Weir knows how to set his stayers for races.

This will likely be its last run this campaign and it could go out in style. Ladbrokes is offering $5.50 which is much better than the $4.60 being offered elsewhere.

Queensland Oaks best each way bet

Ana Royale has been a solid market mover with bookmakers following its win in the South Australian Classic last start.

The Stuart Webb-trained filly was far too good for them over 2500m and the drop back in distance shouldn’t be too much of an issue considering its run in the Schweppes Oaks where it flew home behind Egg Tart and Kenedna to run third.

It might be the most-improved runner in the field after that most recent effort and punters are getting some great each way odds to take the risk.

After opening at $8 it has now firmed into $7 with bookmakers, but Ladbrokes is offering $9 and that’s well worth a bet.

The $2.50 to place at CrownBet.com.au should also be considered as a more safe bet.

Queensland Oaks best upset chance

Oaks race can often produce an upset and Oklahoma Girl fits the bill.

The Waller-trained daughter of Fastnet Rock wouldn’t be considered a huge upset at $11 with Ladbrokes, but it’s not one of the favoured runners and its form suggests it should be fighting out the finish.

It arguably should have won The Roses last start after Kenedna interfered with it in the concluding stages and its first try over that distance should be seen as a big success.

It should get a clean run in transit from barrier seven with Blake Shinn in the saddle and it only needs to run up to its most recent effort to feature in the placings.

Taking the $3 to place at Sportsbet.com.au looks to best bet.
