124 nominated for Melbourne Cup

One-quarter of nominations for the Melbourne Cup are from overseas.

Nominations closed on Tuesday for the 156th Melbourne Cup at Flemington on November 1, and 31 of 124 are from outside Australia.

For the first time, a horse prepared by a trainer from the Czech Republic has been nominated: Trip To Rhodes, trained by Pavel Tuma.
